Master of Architecture

The Architecture Program at the University of Idaho has earned a widespread reputation for producing exceptional architects. Graduates of our program are uniquely equipped to tackle the most challenging design problems facing the built environment today, emphasizing sustainable and community-focused solutions that influence everyday experiences.

For architecture accreditation and licensure, in the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure. The University of Idaho Architecture Program offers the NAAB-accredited Master of Architecture Degree (M.Arch). The seamless M.Arch path at UI is comprised of a pre-professional BS Arch + 45 graduate credits.

The University of Idaho, home of the Vandals, is one of only 72 land-grant research universities in the United States. From its residential campus in Moscow, UI serves the state of Idaho through educational centers in Coeur d’Alene, Boise, Idaho Falls and Twin Falls, and Extension offices in 42 counties. Home to more than 11,000 students statewide, UI is a leader in student-centered learning and excels at interdisciplinary research, service to businesses and communities and their advancement of diversity, citizenship and global outreach. UI competes in the Big Sky Conference and Sun Belt Conference.

The University of Idaho is surrounded by the rolling Palouse hills, an area so beautiful it was featured in National Geographic magazine. Just minutes away from the forests, rivers and lakes of northern Idaho, Moscow is home to more than 24,000 residents and a wide range of student-minded businesses, such as you would only find in a university town. In fact, Men’s Journal named this “hip little city” one of the nation’s five best places to live among college towns. Art galleries, movie theaters, coffee shops and restaurants line the streets. In addition to popular drive-thrus, Moscow offers a huge co-op with organic and natural foods, Northwest-style pubs, as well as locally owned Italian, French, Mexican and Chinese eateries.
